Candidate Registration Form for January 2015 Semester

BSI have now published BS EN 81-20 and BS EN 81-50.

LEIA have been invited to join the Lift and Escalator Trailblazer Group to submit a bid to BIS to prepare new Apprenticeship Standards. The application was submitted before the deadline of July 31st.

BSI are holding a launch event at 9am on Monday 14 July at their offices in Chiswick where discounted standards will be able to be ordered.

BS 9102: 2014 Code of Practice for Safe Working on Lifting Platforms published.

London Fire Brigade has announced that councils and businesses will face tough new penalties if they persistently call 999 to deal with non-emergency lift call outs.
Under the new rules, the Brigade will charge 290 plus VAT from the owners of buildings and lifts for attending non-emergency lift call outs. The charge is applied from the third occasion firefighters are called to the same building in a twelve month period.
