LIFTEX, the tri-annual trade show run by the Lift & Escalator Industry Association (LEIA), has seen an 22% increase in attendance to its 2022 edition which took place from 12 – 13 October 2022 at London’s ExCeL.
Now in its 34th year, LIFTEX is the UK’s only dedicated exhibition for the lift, escalator and access industry and takes place only once every three years. This year’s event attracted 4,000 attendees – the biggest yet and with over 100 exhibitors from 12 countries, including the UK, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA. Usually staged in May, the event was postponed to October because of Covid.
Oliver Greening, LIFTEX Show Director, commented, “We are delighted with the success of this year’s show, and it was great to see the industry reconvene under one roof once again. This was the first time we’ve had a breadth of industry representation from contractors, service companies, component suppliers and organisations from support services. This included hosting the major players Schindler, Otis and TKE for the first time and welcoming back Wittur after a short break. The overwhelming message from visitors and exhibitors alike is that LIFTEX plays a vital role in supporting the UK lift and escalator industry. Many we spoke to told us they couldn’t miss it for that very reason.”
A free, standing-room-only, seminar programme also ran alongside the exhibition featuring information sessions from industry experts on a wide range of topics from safety standards, UKCA marking, the digital switch to a strong building safety theme featuring lifts for firefighters use, the London Plan and evacuation lifts.
