LEIA has announced the launch of a new Level 2 Stairlift, Platform Lift, Service Lift Electromechanic Apprenticeship, the first of its kind. The apprenticeship standard covers:
> Stairlifts
> Platform lifts
> Service lifts
The standard was approved for delivery on 19th March 2020 and the funding has been increased to band 14 (£11,000).
Dan Charlesworth, LEIA Training and Safety Manager, commented, “We are pleased to be able to bring this new standard to the industry and look forward to the first cohort of apprentices starting. Funding is available to companies of all sizes, with non-levy paying employers contributing up to 5% (£550 per apprentice programme), and levy-paying employers can also draw down from their levy pot for this apprenticeship.”
Peter Larkin, owner of Bullet Training Solutions, added, “I was excited to be involved with creating this new standard. The apprenticeship is a great development program for companies of all sizes, to nurture the future of our industry. I look forward to the first batch of learners to undertake this course.”
LEIA would like to thank all the companies, individuals and training providers within the Lift and Escalator Trailblazer Group, who contributed with the development process and approval of this new apprenticeship standard.
