LEIA is pleased to confirm the ongoing support of Professor Rudi Klein, in particular for its Contracts and Legal Committee and Council.
Professor Klein is a leading campaigner against payment malpractices in the construction industry and is regarded as the UK’s leading authority on the use of project bank accounts. Throughout his career he has represented the interests of many specialists across the construction sector; most recently during his time as Chief Executive of the Specialist Engineering Contractors Group (SEC), from which he recently stepped down.
Nick Mellor, MD of LEIA, commented: “Rudi has been a major supporter of LEIA’s work for many years and has provided us with valuable insight and expertise. We are delighted to continue our relationship and benefit from his knowledge across our committees and Council”.
“He has worked tirelessly to reform the practice of retentions in the construction industry – particularly timely as we reach the three-year anniversary of the collapse of Carillion. It was after this that he renewed his efforts to promote Project Bank Accounts and drafted a Private Members’ Bill for Debbie Abrahams MP seeking to mandate their use”.
